The summer swim season has finally come and I can't wait to see what it brings us! I can't even explain how excited I am about being the head coach for the Dolphins. This is truly something that I have wanted to do ever since I was a little girl on the swim team. MCSL swimming has been a major part of my life. It has brought me life long friends and tons of memories that I will never forget. I am so proud to still be a part of MCSL today!
I started out my swimming career when I was six years old here with the Damascus Dolphins. I swam for the Dolphins for 13 years and broke some records along the way (my last butterfly record was broken last summer, but we won't mention the girls name who broke it). I started out helping coach for Damascus when I was 15 with the 8 & Unders and have been a part of the coaching staff ever since. After swimming for the Dolphins I went on to attending East Carolina University, and swam there with my four years of eligibility. I will be graduating this December with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, and will be certified to teach Physical Education.
I think that this summer we have one of the best coaching staffs this team has seen in a long time. We are bringing back some old faces and welcoming two new faces. We all have our strengths and will be able to bring a lot to the Dolphins this summer.
I hope that all of you swimmers are as excited as I am about this summer and are willing to work hard and have fun and show everyone what it is like to be a Damascus Dolphin!

Hello Dolphins! I can't wait to join you all once again for the 2005 summer swim season! I am looking forward to a fun-filled, exciting season!
This will be my second season coaching the Damascus Swim Team and my 11th season coaching in the MCSL. I previously coached the Wheaton Woods Tigers for 9 seasons from 1994-2002. Currently, during the winter, I coach the Rockville High School Swimming & Diving Team; I have been their head coach since 1999.
I was a MCSL summer swimmer for 12 years. I started swimming at the age of 6. I swam for the Connecticut Belair Gators from 1981-1993. I swam for Wheaton High School from 1989-1992. I attended Frostburg State University from 1992-1996 and was a member of the swimming team all four years; I specialized in swimming the 100 & 200 Butterfly events.
I graduated from college with a degree in Health and Physical Education and now I am the Physical Education Teacher at Lois P. Rockwell Elementary School right here in Damascus. I am married (I met my wife coaching in the MCSL- Our teams swam against one another and her team won!). My wife's name is Sara and we have a son named Owen; he will be two years old in January.
As you can see, my life has revolved around swimming for 24 years. I love being able to share the knowledge that I have and teach children the positive aspects that competitive swimming has to offer: lifelong health/fitness, good sportsmanship, hard work, friendships, team spirit and self-satisfaction. What I really love about this sport and this swim league is that all of these aspects are contained within a wonderful family environment with nurturing, support and encouragement.
I expect you all to work hard this season and to strive to do your very best. I am fortunate enough to work with some of the best coaches in this league this year and together we are going to help you suceed. Let's have a lot of fun this season.

Hello all! I am glad to say that I am back for another exciting summer with the Damascus Dolphins. Last year I had such a blast working with the new coaching staff and can not wait to work with the bigger and better coaching staff this summer. I have helped coach the swim team for the past six years and was a dolphin myself for 13 years, swimming ever since I was six years old.
I recently just graduated from Salisbury University where I was a varsity letter all four years as well as a senior captain. I was a member of a pool record in the 200 medley relay and have also placed in all my events at our Capital Athletic Conference championship meet. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Math. I am looking forward to teaching middle school mathematics in the fall with Montgomery County Public Schools.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you working hard, dropping time, and making some memories this summer!
